About Us

Athi special school is an institution dedicated to the physically handicapped learners. We are located in Athi market, Athi sub-location, Kirindine location Akachiu division, Igembe South in Meru County, Kenya. We strive to promote inclusion of children with special needs into regular classrooms. Our goal is ensuring children with special needs get an equal chance as with other children on education matters.

What we do

A Holistic Approach

We support children with special needs in  Kenya, and we rely on various organizations towards funding our activities.


We offer an education  under the curriculum based competency  (CBC-Kenya) ensuring quality education for children with special needs

Self Reliance

We encourage and train the  children with special needs on how to live with other members of society and care for themselves.


We ensure children with special needs have full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms on an equal basis with other children.
